My name’s Raymond Cook and I’m a disabled veteran with a passion for nature photography. It’s my pleasure to share with you five of my color nature photograph eBooks. Two are focused on the ‘Horan Natural Area,’ a manmade wetland located at the north end of Wenatchee, Washington. The third eBook encompasses birds and mammals in and outside the wetland area. This is the 30th Anniversary of the Horan.
I’m also an independent author of 36 western frontier eBooks over the last ten years. My author website is at: www.westernfrontierebooks.com I hope visitors to my nature photography website will enjoy viewing the many mammals and birds I’ve photographed between 2020 and 2022. All the photographs contained in both collections are copyrighted and cannot be re-distributed without the written consent of the author.

About This eBook
This original photographic collection includes 100 mammal & waterfowl photographs taken in the Wenatchee, Washington area by nature photographer Raymond Cook in 2022.
A number of photographs were taken in the Horan Natural Area, a 100-acre manmade natural estuary of streams and ponds created out of a former orchard and cattle pasture once owned by the Horan family in 1990. Other photographs were taken along the Columbia River or Wenatchee area.
Contained herein is what I saw and was able to photograph during 2022. I give you the exact same experience I had – that of walking through nature and stumbling across a variety of mammals or waterfowl. Obviously, cloudy days didn’t capture birds or mammals at their best but many photographs were taken under very nice conditions.
Every photographer knows that being in just the right place at just the right time (at least when it comes to nature) can capture some amazing and beautiful photographs. I hope the photographs contained herein will encourage you too to go out and explore the natural world. I photograph things as they are – sometimes not all photographs can be taken free of limbs in the way of a particular species. That’s because nature isn’t like a beautiful zoo exhibit. The conditions are what they are at the time a photograph was taken.
These images have not been photoshopped or otherwise manipulated in order to depict anything other than what I actually saw in a particular part of the wetland at that time. So, lace up your hiking boots, put some mosquito repellant on and stroll along with the photographer and his camera as he explores some of the hidden, and not so hidden, wonders of this diverse nature in the Wenatchee area. Sometimes I had minutes or seconds to snap what I hoped was a great photo. But it does give you a close-up view of what I photographed.

About the Author
I was born in Shelton, Washington and grew up as a child on an Indian reservation with my mother, brother and sister. In 1972, at the age of 18 I enlisted in the U. S. Marines. While in the Marines I bought a camera and made trips to the Los Angeles Zoo and photographed animals. After I left the service I continued my experience using a camera in Washington State in the late 70s and 80s photographing nature and wildlife in the Pacific Northwest.
Favorite Authors:
